What uses up most of the Gas in the average home is the heating of water. If you can cut down on that it will make a big difference to the bill. Don't set the thermostat too high 60C/140 is ok for a hot bath or wash. And fix that dripping tap. Put the pug in, running water cost money.

When making tea or a hot drink only boil what you need, I've seen some people fill a kettle just to make a cup of tea. If your having a bath take a shower instead. If you don't have a shower improvise with a bucket of water and just pour it over you.

Use heavy curtains at your windows, shut out the cold keep in the heat, don't drape your curtains over the radiators as that will send the heat out of the window.

By turning the thermostat down by just 1C you will save upto 10% off your Gas bill.

Get rid of that Old Back Boiler as well as the Core Vent. Fit a New Boiler.  and save...
